Percorsi Mountain bike

PEDALATA ASSISTITA E RENT BIKE.

DECALOGO N.O.R.B.A.

We must thank passionate locals for the mtb/e-mtb itineraries proposals, volunteers that guarantee practicability of the tracks for most of the year, save for the part related to Vergante and the area of Ameno The system of signs is poor or almost absent. For this reason, use of the map – combined to gpx tracks and pdf sheets of www.salitedelvco.it – is essential to take these paths. We recommend to carefully consider the most appropriate level of difficulty. Note: Red in Piedmont represents the most difficult level, orange the medium and green the easiest.

OR FAMILIES: THE PIANA DEL TOCE ITINERARY. In addition to the system of signs, there is a beautiful naturalistic itinerary suitable for everyone: the one winding through the Natural Reserve of Fondotoce and running along the homonymous river and its affluent, the Strona stream. This level track leads through azalea and rhododendron cultivations, horse manèges and farms… as far as the famous “spiaggetta” (little beach) of Lake Maggiore. A must-see destination!

PEDAL-ASSIST BIKES AND RENTAL BIKES. More and more people are discovering the mtb world thanks to pedal-assist bikes (bicycles with electric motors and a 24 km/h limited speed). For most, the first step is renting one for a few hours or a few days to decide if this can become a passion. Today, our area is equipped with “rent a bike/mtb/e-mtb” points and many recharge posts are now being installed, especially near refreshment premises (bars, restaurants, etc.) to offer cyclists an enjoyable hobby and recharge both physically and technically. In addition, frequent e-bike renters can suggest guides for a safer and fun excursion.

BIKER’S CONDUCT RULES. When the first “fat tire” bicycles appeared, N.O.R.B.A. (National Off-Road Bicycle Association) drew up an actual code of conduct to regulate the off-road activity while fully respecting nature and the other frequenters of mountains and nature tracks. N.O.R.B.A.’s code (see below) was also adopted by all other clubs, organizations, associations and schools on the Italian territory. It consists of advices of general nature that, if complied with, may contribute in making this sport and outdoors activity more enjoyable and attract both younger and older people.

    DECALOGO N.O.R.B.A.

  • Always give way to hikers.
  • Slow down and use caution when approaching hikers or other cyclists and signal your presence in advance; avoid making loud noises or yelling and apologize and greet with good manners.
  • Always check your speed and enter curves cautiously, trying to foresee sudden obstacles. Your speed must be adequate for the type of terrain, itinerary and experience of each excursionist.
  • Always follow the path to limit your impact on the environment (permanent damage to the surrounding vegetation and consequent soil erosion.)
  • Do not disturb or scare pets and wild animals; give them time to move away from your path.
  • Never dump your waste; collect yours and, when possible, those of “absent-minded” excursionists.
  • Always respect private and public property, leaving gates, moving bars or other barriers as originally found. When possible, contact the owners in person to ask for permission of transit. “Do not enter” often means “Please ask for permission if you wish to pass”.
  • We recommend being self-sufficient during bike excursions. Destination and speed must be proportionate to the cycler’s psychophysical preparation and skills, gear, environment, terrain and, last but not least, weather conditions.
  • Never take a bike excursion alone, except in case of force majeure. Do not travel through isolated areas far from main communication ways and always leave clear indications about your itinerary and estimated time of return.
  • Limit your impact on nature as much as possible: only steal images and memories, the only marks you should leave are those of your bike tires.

    VERHALTENSREGELN LAUT N.O.R.B.A.

Buona pedalata a tutti!
